Reason for that is my studies are coming to an end, slowly.

Okay, this is going to be another one of those longer journals.

First:
Okay, this is getting kind of ridiculous.
The pageviews explosions have stopped for a day or two after I have posted my last journal.
And I thought the pageviews that I've been getting back then were quite a lot (for me, at least).

But now it just takes the cake.



Look at how small that tower of 5704 pageviews looks like in comparison to the new number I have received today.


Now, I wanted to thank all of those who commented on my last journal.
I know now that this is the work of someone with a programme that generates a desired amount of pageviews over time.

Anyway, it's really annoying. I don't think I need to say any more than that.


Second:



UPDATE
this afternoon:


a few minutes ago:


almost all of my other deviations (some of you experience the same thing probably at the moment) have a massive influx of new views (hundreds of them) and downloads (dozens of them)
But Sunrise in Space had to go over the top, of course.

END UPDATE

Now that the pageview mystery has been solved, I realise that it has nothing to do with the Sunrise mystery, I have been talking about the last time.
One thing is for sure, though: Both of these cases aren't linked directly. However, it could be the work of the same programme.
When my pageviews stayed low for a day or two, Sunrise in Space has been downloaded as often as it had been viewed.

Sometimes the download counter went even higher than the actual view counter itself (up to 300 and more), which proves to me, that this is rigged somehow.
Yep, no features on big blogs or anything like that, just being targeted by bots.

Well.. I have taken action after posting my last journal and replaced the old *.jpg with a new wallpaper pack and even included new sizes (+ a readme file with all the urls).
So the wallpaper pack contains the following sizes now:

Third:
As I got this many pageviews today, there'll be no doubt that I will be catapult onto the "most visited"- ranking list, tomorrow.




I feel like I should do something and make a good use of it.
I have decided to start up a donation pool on my userpage and collect donations.
I will use those donations for free give aways (free subscriptions, wishlist gifts and so on). Either by starting random fun games or by starting more serious calls, or both, or even by something completely different.
Of course I will use my own points, as well.

How does that sound? I will need your help, though. Let me hear your thoughts & don't forget to donate!


Final part:
Oh yeah, right, drawings are now enabled in news & journal comments.
This isn't another one of those drawing journals that have been going wild these days, don't worry about that...

So, some strange things happened to me, lately,.. mainly on dA.

Okay, this journal is going to be a bit longer than my previous ones. To skip the babbling and get to the main stuff I wanted to say and hear your opinions to, go down to the second paragraph. Thanks!

First:
Someone bought a print version of The Observer
Yeahhh that's pretty strange,.. anyway, whoever bought it: Thanks a lot, I appreciate it very much!
Have fun having the mysterious being hanging on your wall while it observes everything you do.

Second:
So, I rarely do this, but a few days ago, when I was about to check my pageview counter to get a rough idea of how many people come by to visit my page, I realised, that a pageview nuke had gone wild the day before.


Needless to say, I was confused.


Yeah, I know, pageviews are only numbers and such.. I know that's right. I mean.. literally! These were just numbers. Nothing else has changed.
No sudden increase in either new s, watchers nor comments.
I'd decided to compare that number to my previous stats.
And I gotta say: I have never reached a number that high in the past. Ever. Not even when I have received a DD.


Third:
Okay, that alone was pretty weird, don't you agree?
But wait 'till you see this:




Again: Nothing else has changed.

It took me a few moments to realise, that one of my older works went viral.
I'm talking about the downloads of Sunrise in Space:




That counter literally blew up the last days.

To give you a better idea:

So, if anyone has an explanation to this, please let me hear it.
(Funny explanations are welcome, too )
Clearly, someone is hotlinking Sunrise in Space.. I've tried searching for the source, but I've had no luck at all.
(tineye does give me some results, but I already knew about them a long time ago, and I doubt that the possible source is to be found there)
Maybe I was featured on photoshopdisasters? Maybe even on failblog.org?

Don't get me wrong, it's great to see that so many people come by just to visit my art.
But this is kinda wrong.. I'd really like to know how this happened.

Maybe it's a bot? But the pageviews come in at very irregular intervals.
Anyway, somehow it's nice to see that Sunrise in Space is distributed over 160,000 computers.
.. or 160,000 times on one computer.
