Does anyone know of a free video editing software?
All it needs are the following features:
Fast forward, add audio, cut

Doesn't matter if it's one software or three softwares with one of these features each.
When saving the video however it should neither blow up the harddisk space usage nor destroy the quality.

update: Windows Live Movie Maker

I was bored, so I made a slideshow of all the steps of my newest image (embedded video below).


I'm pretty new when it comes to stuff like video-editing, so there's also a bug during the text to image transitions.
But I think you'll get the idea once you see the video. BE SURE TO WATCH IT IN HD!!




I've also been updating my other accounts all over the internet.
It's a long list, but it was worth it, I guess. Took me quite a while, too.

I haven't been active on dA for quite some time.
My last artwork has been submitted in May 2011.
Naturally, a lot of things on this site have changed for me during the past year.
To set it straight: I really like this place. Many things have been improved when it comes to the browsing experience, organizing your stuff, and so on.
Furthermore, it's exciting to see, that there are apparently even more active users on dA than in the past.
But there is something else, that bugs me quite a bit.
I don't visit the frontpage of dA that often anymore. And I'm not really sure if I even want to.
The standard settings are set to display the most popular deviations submitted up to 8 hours ago, if I'm not mistaken.
And that's just what I see. The most popular stuff, faved by the majority of deviants.
For example, there's the typical eye once every week, often with some melting/dripping blobs or other kind of twists.

Then, there are plenty of cat deviations, of course. These don't even need a special addition. Plain cats will do the trick.

And there is fanart of any kind.


Now, don't get me wrong. There are very good images of eyes, cats and fanart out there.
But they often get washed away and overrun by the clichéd stuff we see everyday.
I guess that's because there are a lot more art appreciators in contrast to artists registered on dA than in the past.
And somehow, I have a feeling that they like to drink from the mainstream, i.e. most of them are probably cat lovers.
Too bad, because undiscovered artists often stay unnoticed.
But that's just how it goes. Life is hard. Especially if you want to achieve something. And that is a good thing.

What is your opinion on this?
Well, I know how TobiasRoetsch thinks about this.



Again, please keep in mind that this is just my personal opinion.
And I'm not really bothered by this, because I can just avoid checking the frontpage to solve my problem for now.

The latest performance of Gain with "Tinkerbell" on Music bank was good.

Everything was set: The Lighting, the sound, the outfit and the background.
Wait.. Something's not right with the background.
It looks oddly familiar..
Let's pause it.

Yes, now I'm sure of it. That background looks like one of my very first pieces "Island at night".
Let's put my original piece on top of that at 50% opacity.

And now at 100% opacity.

Some background information for those of you who didn't know.
(Please correct me if I'm wrong with any details)
"KBS Music bank" is one of four really big weekly music shows in south korea.
Gain (or Ga In, romanized) (가인) is a huge kpop (korean pop) idol and is part of the succesful girl-group "Brown Eyed Girls".
With this performance she is promoting her comeback and her second solo album.

Thanks KBS, but next time ask me in advance before using my work. Also, don't actually pay someone to hastily paste in that huge chunk of moon.
Good thing it was used for the performance of someone like Gain, otherwise I would have been kinda mad and disappointed.
